I need help…

No, seriously… That’s why I started with a new therapist this week!

I just wanted to remind you that it’s okay to need help. We all do sometimes.

Sometimes awareness is simply not enough. Sometimes mindfulness practices are simply not enough. Sometimes self-help books and courses simply won’t take you where you’re trying to go. SOMETIMES WE NEED HELP from an outside source, and right now for me - that’s therapy.

I have recently become painfully aware of some patterns in myself that are subtly holding me back in life. P.S. I feel really grateful to have friends who call me out on my bullish*t because when it comes to my blind spots I’m, well… blind!

Our protective parts are so efficient that sometimes they are actually creating more grief than safety in our lives. In the attempt to protect, sometimes we lock in habits that have become outdated or unnecessary, and without a ‘reboot’, these programs could keep running indefinitely.

But hey, it’s important to not shame these parts because they truly are here to help. Sometimes they just need to be gently reassigned, or re-directed!

So this is just your friendly reminder that everyone needs help now and then, and I think it’s something we should talk about more often. 🫶
